Manchester Giants are back!
Manchester Giants pro basketball team are back playing in the British Basketball League competing against twelve other pro teams across the UK. After an absence of a decade, Manchester Giants have reclaimed their spot in the professional British Basketball League. After being resurrected by a team of enthusiasts, basketball courts will once again be rumbling with the sound of Giant footsteps this season. Manchester Giants was the biggest club in UK basketball in the late 1990s, attracting crowds of up to 15,000 each game. After a disastrous take over, fans were left bereft as the club melted into financial ruin. But the game continued…
Manchester still has the highest number of basketball players and enthusiasts – thanks in part to a fantastic amateur scene. Manchester Giants offers homegrown talent a chance to ‘go pro’ in their city. After jumping through many hoops, Manchester Giants – the club, the brand and the fans – are back!
